Do home inspectors look for trip hazards?

Typically not a primary focus, an inspector may identify potential trip hazards such as uneven flooring or loose carpeting during the inspection process. These issues may arise from missing or damaged doorway transition strips, buckling laminate flooring, improperly stretched and secured carpets at carpet strips, or missing or damaged floor tiles.

Trip hazards may be present on sidewalks and driveways due to damaged concrete, loose or damaged pavers, and newly laid grass. In certain instances, holes in the yard may result from tree removal or the addition or removal of soil.
